An airy apartment in Madrid

in architecture, interior design, Madrid, spainI love the wood, the light and the airy design of this home. This is full renovation of a 213m2 apartment in the heart of the Salamanca district (Madrid). It was an old apartment distributed in a traditional and very compartmentalized ( which is the case in Spanish big cities) way that prevented the entrance of natural light and limited it to a succession of dark spaces.
The objective of the successful architecture studio ÁBATON was to confer a new, modern and clean air, unifying the spaces and allowing the entrance of natural light and redistributing spaces. Now, the common areas - lounge, dining room and kitchen - are concentrated near the access door to the house and the private areas - bedrooms and bathrooms - to the bottom of it, where once was the kitchen and service area.
