Unique and stunning, these mirrors are an exploration into bringing different materials together. Here the use of copper and rope to form the outer border of a mirror combine together to give an organic, yet industrial feel.
There is a real ‘human touch’ to each mirror made, the copper clasps are cut, folded, and rolled by hand. The flax rope used, soft and subtle, a highly sustainable material add the organic touch to the full design.  They come in 2 sizes, Standard 38cm diameter and Large 48cm diamete and are designed by M Dex Design, a design studio and workshop based in Sheffield in the UK.
The practice was started in 2012 by Miles Dexter who designs and makes contemporary furniture and products.  Some of his pieces are unique one-offs, others are produced in small batches. Interested in materials, processes, techniques, and the world around us, natural or man-made, his work could be described as urban yet organic, in one word, ‘Ur-ganic’.  SHOP HERE >>
