I saw this home in AD, and I had to find to whom it belong. I am afraid that I did not know who Jenni Kayne was.. But just by looking at her gorgeous home and family, I had to find out more ! ;)
This is the Los Angeles home of fashion designer Jenni Kayne and real-estate agent Richard Ehrlich. The couple called upon Silvia Kuhle and Jeffrey Allsbrook of Standard, the architecture firm that had conceived Kayne’s first retail store in 2007. She says: “There’s no plastic and no garish colors. Doing four collections a year, I’m surrounded by different colors and patterns all day long. I need the place where I live to be clean and simple.”
With its crisp white walls and wood and stone, this home really shows that these raw materials and the clean lines can incorporate comfort and warmth. A fabulous fireplace surround made of board-formed concrete anchors the space indoors and outdoors, reclaimed-oak beams frame the glass walls and salvaged-pine siding lines the ceiling in the living room and the kitchen. Great idea !
The landscape architect Pamela Burton conceived the gorgeous gardens with olives tree, roses. Gorgeous, airy and unpretentious ! My kind of home ! ;)
