2 days at Cowley Manor in the beautiful Cotswolds

Saturday, 5 January 2013

Just a few days before Christmas, Hubby, little one and I,  were invited to the gorgeous wedding of our friends Mayuko and Marc at Cowley Manor in England.
They treated their friends and families into a gorgeous wedding mixing traditions Japanese and American for the bride and English and French for the groom and invited them to stay in a this amazing place, a beautiful union in one of the most beautiful places I have been to. The perfect set for a traditional wedding with a twist.

This funky stately home is based in 55 acres of beautiful grounds in the pretty Cotswold countryside. At first, it appears as traditional as you can get typical old-world elegance, but step inside the door and you’ll be hit with the flamboyant, groovy, 70s contemporary vibe mixed with the best in Georgian country-house luxe.

Rooms are large and have stunning floor-to-ceiling windows with views across the countryside, bathrooms are huge and the d├ęcor mixes the bold with the chic (vivid purple walls and sofas, bright yellow walls, elegant linens, and hi-tech room accessories). It couldn’t be further from your country house hotel.

The C-Side Spa is even more contemporary and fabulous within this traditional setting. (But being a Bridesmaid and a mum during this wedding escape, I couldn´t managed any time to check it out ! Next time! )
Very friendly and helpful staff too who took us to the train station in a hurry so we could make it back to London on time and catch our plane back home !!
For a romantic escape or a luxurious chill out weekend, Cowley Manor is highly recommended if you visit the UK.

I loved the Green & Spring products in the bathroom and the Spa, which is a natural range of skin and body care using herbs, flowers and plants from across the British Isles. The packaging is so cute !

These are the gorgeous shoes from Miu-Miu  from the bride !!
She has a fabulous taste in choosing shoes and wedding places, hasn´t she ?? ;)
