Christmas Season has started ! Let's start the winter inspiration !
Located in the French Alps, near Megève, a major tourist resort, the house is much more than the iconic image of a story. It is an important architectural rehabilitation that have predominated in the criteria of sustainability and ecology. The Belgian decorator Lionel Jadot was commissioned to transform this former farmhouse.
The chalet has two levels. At the bottom are the bedrooms and the top floor is a huge open-plan, with ceiling height of 12 m, a view to the mountains through large windows that continue on a terrace.
All furniture and pieces from different cultures and eras are collected from trips through Africa, Asia, Europe ... These findings have been mixed with antique and vintage pieces.
Also some objects from the world of cinema are very present in clear homage to another great vocation of Jadot, as filmmaker.
The end result is a very warm and cheerful, halfway between the bucolic mountain home and a sophisticated New York loft. I particularly love the seating area with a leather sofa cushions 50s and kilim type and that gorgeous kitchen covered with Bisazza mosaic for the elegant touch. One of my favorite places to spend winter. To see more chalets, go to my last year post. Do you feel ready for a hot chocolate ?
