A dandy elegant appartement in Berlin by Bernd Schürmann

Friday, 20 July 2012

I love masculine apartments and I never seem to see enough of them in magazines and online.  I posted a gorgeous one from Paris recently.  This time, it's in Berlin, and If I was a man, I would seriously consider living in this one. :)
Bernd Schürmann's universe is marked by fashion and his style has been influenced from companies such as Balmain, J. Mendel or Iceberg.
His apartment is located in the heart of Berlin, in a magnificent house of 1894, as reflected in the classic architecture, detailed plastering, their double doors and wooden floors. The creator of the clothing brand SLY 010 has infused his own personality to this old fashion and elegant residence.
Muted tones and a range of grays give away the male palette and the selection of accessories, its elegance.
Many of the black and white photographs of his house, as displayed behind his desk, come from an advertising campaign for French fashion label Paul Ka.
In the large living room, he has gathered several items with a major decorative presence: an exotic zebra skin rug, a modern lacquered sideboard, white fabric sofas and dark curtains.

"I would describe my style as traditional, but also spontaneous. I buy only what I like, following my instincts, without thinking about where things come from or how important they are. I do not follow trends, but I'm interested in the mixtures."
The bedroom is darker than the rest of the apartment, but the use of warm textures, such as carpet, make it a warm and relaxed.  A great inspiration for bachelors.
