Alemagou, Mykonos - Lunch date this summer ?

Wednesday, 1 February 2012

Are you already dreaming about summer ? I do ! :)  I am dreaming of small gorgeous islands by the Aegean sea, like Mikonos to start with....
Found this perfect spot: Alemagou is a bar/restaurant set beautifully on the sand of Ftelia Beach on the Greek island of Mykonos. Taking inspiration from typical Cycladic architecture, local firm K Studio have used the whitewashed, smooth-edged houses and dry stonewalls that blend into the rugged landscape as key elements of the design.
Mykonos’ Cycladic architecture is about white cube houses built next to and on top of one another.
Featuring smooth-edged corners and painted in lime-white, this traditional Greek design manages to keep buildings cool on hot days (upwards of 100 degrees Fahrenheit), and to protect them from strong winds.

The combination of natural and designed elements comes together beautifully and harmoniously. A perfect place  to have lunch this summer... Isn´t it ?
