This is how long it took us to build this beautiful lamp ! ;)
Normann Copenhagen was founded in 1999 by Poul Madsen and Jan Andersen and they have edited again this piece designed by Simon Karkov in 1969.   This lamp, THE Norm 69 is their best selling product ! Like any thing pretty, it has its flaws ! ;)

Patience is a virtue...  hummm.....
I always loved the simple design of this lamp shade.  Soooo Danish... I put on my wish list*** , and got it almost one week later from my hubby !! :) ♥ ♥

I was soo very happy for the surprise, since I was looking for a shade for the terrace lounge for a while now... I did not think of it for that area of the apartment though... But this place is sooo organic, that it works almost, anywhere !

What I did not know.....  is that you had to assemble all 69 pieces yourself !!! It comes flat packed, requires no tools or glue for assembly - just a few patient hours! Shade included only, will fit any existing pendant lamp.   I call this a "cadeau empoisonn√©" ! A poisoned gift in French ! ;)

And of course, I had to do it all by myself since it was MY gift !
It is pretty easy to build though, but you need to really look at the drawing since the explanation in English did not insist on some important requirement which of course, I missed.... And thanks to my soooo intelligent man (!), we had to dismantle it and start again.....
I begged for his help to finish it with me since I was starting loosing patience ( who me ?) ..... and he accepted while closing a deal to finish watching it in front of the football game Barcelona/Madrid !! ;)

Barcelona won  and we got a gorgeous new lamp shade !!! yeeepah !!!

Hehe, who said that design and football can´t match ?? ;)

See result below !  I just love it !! :)     http://normann-copenhagen.com/

*** Wish list: I am posting pictures and links on tumblr for my hubby to check from time to time and get me the gifts I really want ( and make his gift hunt sooo easy !!) ! ;) Will talk about it on another post....
